Planning

Huntingdonshire District Council are the local planning authority for St Neots.

St Neots Town Council is a statutory consultee in respect of all planning applications received by the District Council for the area of St Neots. This means that elected Town Councillors serving on the Town Council’s Planning sub–committee have the opportunity to consider all plans received and forward their recommendations to the District Council.

It should be emphasised that the District Council is the planning authority and determines whether planning permission should be granted or not. Representations can be made to the Town Council who will take these comments into consideration before making formal recommendations to the District Council.

The Town Council also has the opportunity to comment on Local Plans and County Structure Plans and on proposals within adjoining parishes which are likely to have a significant impact on St Neots as a Town.
