Lighting

There is motorway lighting, highway lighting and footway lighting. Motorway lighting is maintained by the Highways Agency, highway lighting is maintained by County Council and footway lighting is provided and maintained by the Town Council. However, in the majority of cases schemes for footway lighting may have been provided by the Town Council but are “adopted” by the County Council for long term maintenance.
